Baneasa Shopping City created the first Fashion Calendar for 2008 in order to support the Romanian young fashion designers

Bucharest, 18th of December 2007 – Baneasa Developments, the company that develops Baneasa Shopping City, recently initiated a program to promote the young fashion designers. The first step consisted in creating a fashion calendar for 2008 in which the creations of the young designers were presented in a very unconventional way.

The young designers united under the name of “Best New Comers” as: Codruţa Luca, Una Moda Group, Maria Ciubotaru, Claudia Castrase, Alina Ene, Ludmila Corlăţeanu, Mirela Diaconu, Andra Clitan and Ersa Couture and the special guest Wilhelmina Arz, showed their collections in a photo session on the building site of “the most eagerly awaited fashion Mall from Romania”. Thus, the young designers watched their creations being transformed into photographic art. The photo session lasted for 2 days and took place right on the building site. The creations of each young fashion designer were connected with the future offers of the commercial centre: Fashion, Gadgets, Decorations, Cosmetics, Art, Gastronomy, Cinema, Accessories, Coffee Shops etc.

„Baneasa Shopping City offers more than 220 shops, restaurants and service and entertainment units at the highest European standards. In”the most eagerly awaited fashion Mall” almost 50% of the entire rentable surface is destined to new fashion brands on the Romanian market. Because of the fact that in Baneasa Shopping City everything is about Fashion, we thought of orienting our attention to the young fashion designers of Romania and to offer them our support through this program.” stated Loredana Croicia, Communication & Promotion Manager - Baneasa Shopping City. „Once the commercial centre is opened, in the spring of 2008, Baneasa Shopping City will continue the series of surprise-projects destined to young fashion designers” added Loredana Croicia.

The team that created the Fashion Calendar of Baneasa Shopping City is composed by: Alin Gălăţescu, art director, Alexandru Conu, young visionary photographer on the fashion photography market, graduate of the prestigious „Photographic Institute of New York”, Alexandru Abagiu, make up artist, Mădălina Mocanu, flower designer and Cleopatra Micu hair stylist. Alin Gălăţescu took care of every small detail in order to make the Fashion Calendar 2008 unique and special.

“Because I saw in this project a huge professional challenge, I wanted to involve myself in every small detail from concept to selecting symbols, choosing designers, selecting fashion outfits, choosing models and creating the team. The Fashion Calendar Baneasa Shopping City is a very ambitious and unique project on the Romanian Market. The calendar starts as a trilogy. The first phase, the Creation consists of shoots taken on the building site of the Mall, but defined by fashion. The next phase, the Certitude will be represented by the Baneasa Shopping City Calendar 2009. The third step, the Maturity, symbolises the existing future, in full development – the 2010 Calendar”, stated Alin Gălăţescu, Art Director. „Style, attitude and evolution are the axis of this trilogy” added Alin Gălăţescu.

Each month has a different style in the Fashion Calendar: January is a perfect beginning, when you look in the future, idea represented by the telescope, February is the month of accessories symbolized bye shoes boxes, Mars is the moment when you want the loved ones and your friends to be close to you, is the time of going out for a cup of coffee, April is a modern and technologic month, Mai is the month of feminity, in June we go outside with our friends, July creates the image of fresh holydays in the hottest month of the year, August represents the end of the summer and the preparation for a new season, idea represented by the reflection of the mirror, September is the beginning of the Autumn and brings a change in fashion style, October is the month of maximum cultural exposure, idea suggested by paintings,  November marks the beginning of the best season of cinematography, December is the month of winter holydays which bring the happiness and joy.
